Introducing a Petnet Video Series

My name is Steve Pelletier, and I am the pet food and pet fitness expert at Petnet.io. Today, I am proud to introduce our new video blog series that is meant to inform and educate pet owners on all things related to pet food. Our objective is to help pet owners better understand how to evaluate and choose their pet’s food as well as to better understand the importance of proper portioning of food.

The two most important decisions that a pet owner faces, each and every day, that can really impact their pet’s health are:

  1. How much to feed their pet.
  2. What to feed their pet.

Proper feeding is so important to the overall health and wellness of a pet. A recent U.S. Surgeon General was known to say that 80% of disease could be eliminated through proper diet. This statement, although made in the context of human beings, absolutely applies to our pets.

Throughout our series, we will set out to:

  1. Dive into the good, the bad, and the ugly ingredients that are commonly found in pet foods.
  2. Demystify pet food labels, which often require a PhD to decipher.
  3. Debunk many of the myths surrounding pet food and proper portioning.

By doing so, we hope to help pet owners learn to feed their pets wisely, so that their pets will live the longest, healthiest, and happiest lives possible.

The father of modern medicine, Hippocrates, is known for the famous saying: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” This quote is over 2,000 years old and is as relevant (or more so) now as it was way back then. Food, indeed, can and should be the first line of defense when it comes to the prevention of or the treatment of disease for our pets.

We’ll see you next time.
