October is Pet Obesity Awareness Month and we at Petnet.io believe that this is an extremely important topic that does, indeed merit a month of awareness building. In light of this, we will be publishing a series of posts, videos, and social media messages with relevant statistics, facts, and tips that will help to increase awareness of this serious problem while providing pet parents with actionable information that they can use to ensure that their pets can achieve a more healthy weight.
As part of our Pet Obesity Awareness plan, we will be providing short, one sentence “sound bites”, 2-3 times per week, of statistics and facts that highlight this issue for both dogs and cats. To kick off this effort, here are our first two sound bites for your consideration. Please feel free to share these with your own friends and followers and help us bring pet obesity to the forefront of topics related to pet health.
Dog: In the US, 53% of dogs are overweight or obese.
Cat: In the US, 58% of cats are overweight or obese.
Stay tuned for more eye opening statistics and facts. Some of these will really blow your mind.
