What Makes Up A Foods Quality Score?

We examine the ingredient list for appropriate proteins, fruits and vegetables, healthy fats and oils and award a higher score, in most cases depending on the position of the ingredient in the list. We also scan for artificial ingredients and other cheap filler ingredients and penalize foods that have these. As for macronutrients (protein, fat, and carb content), we grade on a curve so each food is compared to its peer group (e.g. dry dog foods are compared to each other) and lower carb foods are awarded a higher category score than higher carb foods.
